Pizza chains garner the lion's share of delivery business. According to the quarterly Quick-Track survey by Villa Park, Calif.-based research firm Sandelman & Associates, national pizza chains saw 88.2 percent of past-month delivered meals. Not surprisingly, 86.4 percent of all QSR users who had their food delivered ordered pizza, an 18-quarter average shows.
Among the study's other results:
* According to an 18-quarter average, 83.6 percent of fast-food users having their most recent purchase delivered did so at dinner, 12.4 percent at lunch. Of all users' most recent occasions, 49.6 percent were at dinner, 39.8 percent at lunch.
